Is Pennsylvania sitting on $21B surplus?

Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) claims that Pennsylvania has at least $21.07 billion in surpluses of the taxpayers money it is not using.

I had never heard of this group until a reader tipped me off to its Web site. While I can't vouch for the authenticity of its findings, the group has posted tons of information on its Web site about state and local spending.

We know government lies routinely. We know government overtaxes citizens routinely. We know politicians can't be trusted. So I'm willing to give CAFR the benefit of the doubt.

Check out the information for yourself and ask you state legislator about where your money is going.
