Somebody call Al Gore. He may have to find a new line of work

The closing this week of the Chicago Climate Exchange, which was envisioned to be the key player in the trillion-dollar "cap and trade" market, was the final nail in the coffin of the Obama administration's effort to pass the controversial program meant to combat global warming.

"It is dead for the foreseeable future," said Myron Ebell, director of the Center for Energy and the Environment with the Competitive Energy Institute, which had fought the measure.

That assessment was echoed by environmentalists as well.

When you think about it, Al Gore was already in love with someone else -- Al Gore. There was no room for Tipper in his life ... or in his $9 million mansion.

Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, are separating after 40 years of marriage that included a White House run when their sunny relationship offered a counterpoint to President Bill Clinton's philandering.

According to an e-mail circulated among the couple's associates on Tuesday, the Gores said it was "a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration."

Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider confirmed the statement came from the Gores, but declined to comment further.

The Gores were telling friends they "grew apart" after 40 years of marriage and there was no affair involved, according to two longtime close associates and family friends, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The associates said the Gores, over time, had carved out separate lives, with the former vice president on the road frequently. One of the associates said: "Their lives had gotten more and more separated."

Columnist: Global warming the 'hoax of the century'

Columnist and political commentator Pat Buchanan is the latest to expose the global warming hoax, liking it to the 20th century hunt for the "missing link": that man evolved from a monkey.

But if Piltdown Man and Nebraska Man were the hoaxes of the 20th century, global warming is the great hoax of the 21st. What have we learned:

• In its 2007 report claiming that the Himalayan glaciers are melting, the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change relied on a 1999 story in a popular science journal, based on one interview with a little-known Indian scientist who said this was pure "speculation," not supported by any research.

• The IPCC report that global warming is going to kill 40 percent of the Amazon rainforest and cut African crop yields 50 percent has been found to be alarmist propaganda.

• The IPCC report declared 55 percent of Holland to be below sea level, an exaggeration of over 100 percent.

• While endless keening is heard over the Arctic ice cap, we hear almost nothing of the 2009 report of the British Antarctica Survey that the sea ice cap of Antarctica has been expanding by 100,000 square kilometers a decade for 30 years.

• Though America endured one of the worst winters ever, while the 2009 hurricane season was among the mildest, the warmers say this proves nothing. But when our winters were mild and the 2005 hurricane season brought four major storms to the U.S. coast, the warmers said this validated their theory. You can't have it both ways.

• The Climatic Research Unit at East Anglia University, which provides the scientific backup for the IPCC, apparently threw out the data on which it based claims of a rise in global temperatures for the century. And a hacker into its e-mail files found CRU "scientists" had squelched publication of dissenting views.

Today's global warming hysteria is the hoax of the 21st century. H.L. Mencken had it right: "The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed -- and hence clamorous to be led to safety -- by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary."

Another day, another newspaper debunks Al Gore's global warming hoax.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review on Al Gore's recent op-ed defending global warming despite overwhelming evidence that climate change is a fraud: "What planet this fella is living on, we don't profess to know. But we would suggest that this whack job of a climate change crackpot take the first spaceship back."

Newspaper: A Blizzard Of Lies From Al Gore

The editorial staff at Investor's Business Daily picks apart Al Gore's latest fiction about global warming in a must-read editorial.

If hyperbole and chutzpah had a child, it would be the opening paragraph of Gore's op-ed in Sunday's New York Times. Gore surfaced from the global warming witness-protection program to opine that despite admissions of error and evidence of fraud by various agencies, we still face "an unimaginable calamity requiring large-scale, preventive measures to protect human civilization as we know it."

Perhaps he's trying to protect his investments as he knows them, for he is heavily involved in enterprises that deal with carbon offsets and green technology. If the case for climate change is shown to be demonstrably false, a lot of his green evaporates like moisture from the ocean.

As for the Himalayan fraud, Gore says it's one of "at least two mistakes in thousands of pages of careful scientific work" from the IPCC and its chief, Dr. Rajendra Pachauri. Yet Dr. Murari Lal, an editor of IPCC's Fourth Assessment report, has admitted to the London Daily Mail that he knew the 2035 data were false, but included them in the report "purely to put political pressure on world leaders."

That's what it was all about, the creation of scary scenarios based on flawed computer models and manipulated data to promote government action and control. Now the curtain has been pulled back to reveal Al Gore shivering in the cold like the rest of us.

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

'Stop Al Gore Before He Lies Again'

Al Gore couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat. Is Al Gore the last person on Earth who still believes this global warming crap or is he just in it for the money?

The New York Times once again is Al Gore's "enabler", publishing a February 28 opinion editorial, "We Can't Wish Away Climate Change", despite the mounting evidence that global warming was and is a complete fabrication.

In November 2009, the Telegraph, a British newspaper, carried a story, "Al Gore could become world's first carbon billionaire", so let us disabuse ourselves of the notion that Gore just wants to save the world.

Heavily invested in the "carbon credits" scam and technologies whose success depend on people believing fairy tales about "clean energy" alternatives such as wind and solar energy, Gore has enriched himself by trumpeting the biggest hoax of the modern era.

It is no surprise that The New York Times published his latest collection of lies. The reportorial record of the Times has been decades of lies about global warming. Whatever patina of respectability it once had has been eroded by its participation in the fraud. Why should it stop now?

There is increasing discussion of whether testimony before Congress by Gore and other global warming advocates constitute criminal behavior that begins with lying under oath.
