President Bush visits the Church of the Nativity
President Bush, currently making a trip to the Middle East, visited several holy sites, including the Church of the Nativity, traditionally believed to be the birthplace of Jesus Christ, in the West Bank town of Bethlehem. The president spent time with Greek Orthodox clergy inside the church complex. The president also met with His Beatitude Theophilus III, Patriarch of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem. Here are various photos released of the the president's trip released by The Associated Press.
In the photo in the center, President visits the Grotto of the Nativity, the exact spot where Jesus is thought to have been born. With Bush are US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, center, and guiding him through the church is Khouloud Daibes, left, Minister of Tourisim and Antiquities of Women's Affairs of the Palestinian National Authority.
