I don't have a lot of details yet, but Montgomery County Commissioners' Chairman Jim Matthews (aka King James I) has been kicked off the Montgomery County GOP executive committee as a result of his power-sharing deal with Democrat Joe Hoeffel.
This should be just the beginning of the retribution against Matthews and his co-conspirators, Montgomery County GOP Chairman Ken Davis and Bob Asher, the Republican national committeeman from Montgomery County.
A public censure from the Montgomery County Republican Committee is in order for the trio, who have become pariahs within the party. While party officials can't force Matthews, Davis and Asher to change their party registration, GOP officials should make it clear that turncoats are not welcome at party functions.
Davis is done as county party chairman, not only for failing to prevent Matthews from making the Hoeffel deal, but for the party's loss of five county row offices to Democrats.
