Gov. Ed Rendell lashed out at the media again because a brave reporter actually had the nerve to ask him questions about his $28.3 billion spending plan, which includes $230 million in new taxes and fees.
Rendell's legendary wrath was directed at KDKA TV Political Editor Jon Delano who asked an innocent question about the tax increases.
The governor's response? "Are you nuts, Jon? Are you nuts?," Rendell said.
Rendell argued that the tax increases were insignificant because they amounted to "pennies" per person. But those pennies add up, governor, to the tune of $230 million that you want to remove from the pockets of Pennsylvania residents.
You can see a video of Rendell on the warpath at KDKA's Web site.
A couple of bloggers posted items today about the exchange. Read about Rendell's temper tantrum at Capitol Punmanship and at Policy Blog.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review also takes a shot at Rendell's "Budget lies" on its editorial page today.
This is not the first time Rendell has lashed out at the press or citizen activists for failing to jump on his propaganda bandwagon.
Nate Benefield at Policy Blog also reminds us that the short-tempered Rendell "resorted to name calling, calling the Commonwealth Foundation "imbeciles" and Sen. Folmer "certifiable" and comparing Eric Epstein to "that guy who ate all those people" when they questioned Rendell's spending priorities in 2007.
