Obama is ranked the No. 1 most liberal member of the U.S. Senate for a reason. His voting record as far-left as you can get. But he is the front-runner for the Democratic Party nomination for president.
He has to at least pretend that he's a mainstream candidate and not a far-left idealogue. His staff also has to wake up and smell the coffee. Displaying the flag of a communist nation or paying homage to a communist hero (Che Guevara) is not going to play well in middle America.
Obama has already taken flak for refusing to wear an American flag on his lapel and there's all those stories going around the Internet that he refused to take his oath of office on the Bible, opting instead for a copy of the Koran.
Let's see how this plays out in November. John McCain, American war hero and decorated veteran vs. Barack Obama, who apparently has disdain for the American flag.
As some political observers have noted recently, Democrats are their own worst enemy.

In all fairness, it does work both ways. I know of at least one Republican activist in Berks Co. who is (or at least was as of 1996) a member of the KKK. Both parties have their nutbags
