2 men, 250 pairs of panties equals a crime

I guess the sight of two men shopping at Victoria's Secret on Valentine's Day didn't arouse anyone's suspicions. It's not uncommon for male shoppers to visit Victoria's Secret to find that special gift for their significant other. Especially on Feb. 14.

But this was no last-minute shopping trip. It was a crime that is getting national attention. Police say at least 250 female undergarments (I'm guessing similar to the ones in this photo) were reported missing after the two men left the store. We'll keep you posted if these brazen criminals are apprehended.

The Associated Press report:
Valentine's Day thieves hit Victoria's Secret at Pa. mall

Police say lingerie lifted from a Victoria's Secret store in southeastern Pennsylvania wasn't just a last minute Valentine's gift.

The theft happened Thursday at Coventry Mall in Chester County, 30 miles northeast of Philadelphia. But police Sgt. Robert Malason says the magnitude of the undergarment grab is "beyond personal use."

North Coventry Township police count up the midday Valentine's Day haul at 250 pairs of women's undergarments including $1,875 worth of thongs and briefs.

Police say two men are being sought.
Police were looking for two black men, both about 5-foot-10 with short dark hair. One, in his late 20s and about 200 pounds, wore a red sweatshirt and blue jeans. The other, in his late 30s and about 250 pounds, wore a black leather jacket and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to call the North Coventry Police Department at 610-323-8360.

Here’s a copy of the Philadelphia Inquirer’s article regarding the earlier Victoria Secret heist:

I love the tag-line: “This thief's bottom line: high-priced lingerie.”
