'Toy Story 3' skyrockets to $226M at box office

To infinity and beyond ...

It appears "Toy Story 3" will end up one of the biggest movies of all time. It's already topped $226 million at the box office in just two weeks of release.

The latest Pixar film held the No. 1 spot at the box office this weekend with an estimated $59.0 million.

To put the success of "Toy Story 3" in perspective, the other much-hyped computer animated sequel of the summer, "Shrek Forever After," grossed $229 million in six weeks of release. And the disappointing Dreamworks sequel is just about done in first-run theaters.

And we're only talking domestic gross. "Toy Story 3" has also made $100 million overseas, bringing its total box office haul to $326 million.
