So much for the Phillies repeating

Phillies second baseman Chase Utley needs hip surgery. He's could be out for up to six months.

Phillies third baseman Pedro Feliz just had back surgery. He's expected to be ready for the start of Spring Training. Maybe.

Starting left-fielder Pat Burrell is a free agent. The prospects of "Pat the Bat" returning to the Phillies are not good.

This is why it's so hard for teams to repeat as champions. I guess we should savor the 2008 World Series. The next trip might be far down the road.

Well, the regular season doesn't start until late march so Utley could very possibly be ready to go by opening day. If not we could survive a month, maybe two, without him. As for Pat the bat we could do much better. Pat is delusional if he thanks anyone will give him as much money as the Phils are reported to have offered...so I expect him to be back, and if not we can find a replacement who is better offensively and defensively. Can you believe I did that whole comment without calling you fat ugly loser who has no idea what they're talking about? I can't! Go Phils!
