'An American Carol' earns $3.8M at box office

Despite a near total blackout of reviews and press coverage in the mainstream media, "An American Carol" finished in the Top 10 of the weekend's box office, earning $3,810,000 since opening Oct. 3.

The parody of left-wing nuts like Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell, finished ahead of such mainstream Hollywood releases as "Flash of Genius," which took in $2.3 million, and "Blindness," which took in 2 million.

"An American Carol" opened in 1,639 theaters. Compare that to 3,215 for the mind-numbingly bad "Beverly Hills Chihuahua," which topped the weekend box office.

I didn't get a chance to see "An American Carol" yet, but two fellow Pennsylvania bloggers did see it. See what PAWaterCooler and Midnight Blue have to say about the movie.
