Castor: Cronyism rampant in Montco

There was a popular book out a few years ago about liberal hypocrisy called "Do As I Say (Not As I Do)"

Montgomery County Commissioner Joe Hoeffel appears to have taken the book to heart.

Despite campaigning in 2007 on a platform of ending political patronage, Hoeffel, with the assistance of Republican turncoat Jim Matthews, has turned Montgomery County into Cronyism Central after taking office in January 2008.

The No. 1 job skill required to get hired by Montgomery County government appears to be having lost an election as a Democratic Party candidate.

Republican Commissioner Bruce L. Castor recaps all the patronage hiring done by Hoeffel in this letter to the editor published in The Mercury.
