Rendell awards Tunpike legal work to his former law firm

I spotted this story on Grassroots.com, which provides a link to a site called Yardbird.com, which is reporting that Gov. Ed Rendell awarded a no-bid contract to his former law firm.

"Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell has awarded his former law firm an extremely lucrative contract to act as special counsel in the proposed privatization of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, and related matters, including the proposed change of Interstate 80 into a toll road," according to Yardbird.com

This is typical of Rendell, who takes care of his friends and political cronies -- often at taxpayers' expense.

The cost to taxpayers so far has been $2 million, the Web site reports.
