Tucker Carlson is no Bill O'Reilly

I wouldn't want to be the person who books the speaker for the Berks County Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner.

Scheduled for May 14, 2008, at the Sovereign Center in Reading, the keynote speaker will be Tucker Carlson, the guy who wears a bow-tie on what had been a low-rated MSNBC public affairs show called "Tucker."

Two big problems with booking Tucker Carlson. He has some big shoes to fill in comparison with the Chamber's 2007 speaker, Bill O'Reilly, the king of cable news shows. And MSNBC just announced that it has canceled Carlson's weekday program because of low ratings.

How do you go from A-list speaker like Bill O'Reilly to a D-List guest like Tucker Carlson? Good question. That's why I don't want to be the person who booked Carlson.

O'Reilly was a huge draw last May, selling out the event despite some protests from the far-left crowd.

If you're still interested in seeing Carlson in person (you won't see him for free on TV anymore), tickets are still available at $110 per person for Chamber members and $130 for non-Chamber members.
