The new push to eliminate school property taxes in Pennsylvania needs support from voters.

The property tax reform legislation would benefit senior citizens and many lower- or fixed-income residents who struggle to pay increasing property taxes, but reform would also benefit public schools. The current system favors wealthier districts, forcing districts in poorer areas to raise taxes or cut programs to balance their budgets.
