'Dragon' knocks 'Alice' from box-office perch

The 3-D phenomenon is here to stay. It appears that the best way to conquer the box-office these days is to release a film in 3-D. Following the path of "Avatar" (7 weeks at No. 1) and "Alice in Wonderland" (3 weeks at No. 1) we have another No. 1 film released in 3-D.

"How to Train Your Dragon" topped the box office this weekend with an estimated $43.3 million according to BoxOfficeMojo.com

"Avatar" and "Alice" have already accounted for more than $1 billion in tickets sales domestically in 2010. With "Clash of the Titans" and "Toy Story 3" coming out this spring, don't be surprised if most, if not all, of the top-grossing films of 2010 will be 3-D releases.
