Good Newspapers Can Survive if They Break Their Old Culture

From an article by David Klein in Advertising Age: "The daily newspaper of the future -- and I'm drawing a distinction here between daily metros vs. consumer and trade magazines, which have different challenges and cost structures -- will be staffed with fewer people who will be paid less and will multitask more."

I shudder to think this is our last line of defense against an oppressive government.

When was the last time the newspapers looked out for us and not the left arm of the government? If they did, we would not be in this mess!
