A total of 30 films released in 2009 grossed $100 million or more, helping Hollywood set a new record for box-office receipts.
While "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" will go down as the top-grossing film of the year, that's only because "Avatar" wasn't released until Dec. 18.
The James Cameron sci-fi epic has earned more than $309 million in a little over two weeks of release, catapulting all the way to second place for the year.
