PA GOP: Since Obama took office, PA has lost more than 100,000 jobs

Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason was not surprised to see that President Barack Obama chose to avoid hardworking Pennsylvania families who are "bitter" over his big government agenda and concerned about his government-run health care plan on Tuesday, instead choosing to hang out with other liberal elites in a last ditch attempt to save Democrat U.S. Senator Arlen Specter from electoral loss next year.

"President Obama clearly is avoiding average hardworking Pennsylvanians who have serious concerns about his big government agenda, specifically his plan for government-run, taxpayer-funded health care," Gleason said. "If Obama thought Pennsylvanians were "bitter" before, he should talk to them now that they have digested the failed Obama-Specter stimulus bill, his massive energy tax, the government takeover of the auto, insurance and banking industries, and now his push for government-run, taxpayer-funded health care while our nation's budget deficit continues to multiply by trillions of dollars by the day.

"With his negatives climbing and his election hopes falling, U.S. Senator Arlen Specter has to be wondering if the President is going to help or hurt his re-election campaign. As a loyal Democrat foot soldier and in his new role as the junior Pennsylvania Senator, Specter's numbers continue to decline as he has been forced to defend Obama's unpopular policy positions, like the stimulus that has resulted in a bigger deficit and more lost jobs."
