Make your Congressman feel your pain

This letter to the editor published in The Pottstown Mercury came from a man who has worked in the insurance industry for more than 40 years. He knows the health insurance system inside out and what the Obamacare bill is promising, the federal government cannot deliver. Unless you want European-style health-care rationing, you must oppose Obamacare.
Health care bill is flawed

It's interesting to read the comments in your letters section but especially the one about the most current draft that exempts the Congress and the Executive Branch from the government-run health care option.

We forget that we are the employers and they are our employees elected to serve us —that's a big laugh. Do you think they would give up their premier coverage and have what they want us common folk to endure? Let them give up the 24/7 on-call physician and access to Bethesda and Walter Reed. They can't even give top notch coverage to our dedicated active duty military and veterans.

As one who has worked in health care insurance and administration for more than 40 years, there is only one way to stop this health care mess.

When your senator/congressman comes home from Washington, you better make them feel your pain, your lack of confidence in what they have done and will do if this plan is enacted.

They can't even handle a $4,500 car refund. They want to promote abortion (it's in the bill) and for those of us who are seniors, well you be the judge. We cost the system and as we get older waiting for treatment may take months. If you are 30 and need a hip replaced; you get it. If you are 70 and need the same hip, bear the pain maybe you will die before it gets done. That's what happens in Canada and England; in Switzerland they assist you and your sick spouse to their custom assisted suicide.

It's a grim picture but it's the truth.
