One in every four adults is obese in 28 states, including Pennsylvania, according to a new report by Trust For America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
That's an increase from the 19 states cited in a 2007 survey. Adult obesity rates increased in 37 states in the past year. No state saw a decrease.
"America's future depends on the health of our country. The obesity epidemic is lowering our productivity and dramatically increasing our health care costs," said Dr. Jeff Levi, executive director of Trust For America's Health.
The state with the highest rate of adult obesity? Mississippi. West Virginia, Alabama, Louisiana and South Carolina round out the Top 5.
And the healthiest state? Colorado.

I knew my eyes were hurting and now I know why. My state came in 6th. At least we don't have any beaches here.
