From today's editorial page of The Mercury:
THORNS to the lawmakers in the Pennsylvania House who walked off the floor this week to force action on gun-control legislation. At least 12 of the 17 members of the Legislative Black Caucus, all Democrats, suddenly asked to be put on leave at the start of a debate over an open records bill on Wednesday. Some threatened to sit out the rest of the session. We have often railed against the Legislature for their failure to get things done, but now lawmakers have found a new way to paralyze themselves from action. A boycott or walkout is no way to get legislation passed. We understand the frustration -- gun control is always contentious -- but getting up from the table doesn't move toward results.
