Obama's FEMA finally responds

More than a week after an ice storm killed 55 and left hundreds of thousands without power, FEMA (now under the direction of President Barack Obama) is responding to the victims in Kentucky and Arkansas.

See earlier post.

FEMA/Defense Logistics Agency Order 660,000 Military Meals Ready to Eat (MREs) for Immediate Shipment to Kentucky and Arkansas Storm Victims; All Military MREs are Safe to Eat and are not Affected by the Peanut Butter Recall

Tony,

Thank you for noticing and reporting on our plight in Arkansas and Kentucky. We live in the Arkansas Ozarks and we are now blessed after 10 days and 4 hours (but who was counting :)) to have power. Will take us a year to clean up the downed trees.

In our county alone, we have over 700 power crewmen from other states coming to our rescue. We have people who will not have power for another month. So many downed power poles will take a long time to replace.

Other counties in the Arkansas Ozarks are suffering as well. So is NW Kentucky. Someone asked why it took so long for Obama's FEMA office to respond to the damage in AR, S. MO. KY and TN. The response was that we were "red states." We have yet to hear President Obama express concern for the people without water and power. Many have not been reached yet. Crews are cutting their way to homes.

As a fellow conservative blogger, I appreciate your noticing our plight and will cross post your post in a few minutes to the ARRA News Service with a hat tip back to your blog.

God Bless from Arkansas,
Dr. Bill (Ozark Guru)
