'Obama's assault on human life'

An excellent Letter to the Editor published in The Pottstown Mercury about the Obama Administration's push to increase the number of abortions in the U.S. and around the world by subsidizing the taking of human life with tax collars. Obama is also pushing for adoption of the "Freedom of Choice Act," which is supported by the abortion-on-demand industry.

I also hope that Mr. Obama fails — not in his efforts to stabilize the economy or to get our country headed in the right direction — but rather in his efforts to remove the minimal protection that both the unborn or partially born now have by his promised support of the "Freedom of Choice Act" or FOCA.

One definition of holocaust is: "A complete or thorough sacrifice or destruction as of large numbers of human beings." Does that not describe what it is that we are now experiencing here in our country? How many more innocent children have to die so that a political promise will be fulfilled?

Mr. Obama promised change if elected and help to those citizens most in need. Please tell me, who is in more need of our help and protection than an unborn or partially born human being? These are people we are talking about! Our country is all about civil rights and making sure that we all have access to them. When do the civil rights for the unborn kick in? They can't vote so I guess that it doesn't matter. So much for a Harvard education.

If you care one bit about the direction that this country is headed and for the most vulnerable of our citizens, write your representatives in Washington and share your concern. It is time that the caring citizens of this country step forward. As a wise man once said, "Bad things happen when good people remain silent."
