Jumping ship at the PA Gaming Board

Eric Heyl has a terrific column in The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review about the strange going-ons at the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, including the recent announcement by its executive director that she was bailing out of her $180,000-a-year job.

Anne Neeb "leaves her job on Friday, but will continue to draw her $180,000 annual salary until the end of September to fulfill the terms of her contract," Heyl writes. "Something about that doesn't seem quite right -- particularly given the circumstances surrounding her exit."

That's $60,000 she will get paid not to work for the Gaming Board.

Heyl also reviews some of the problems Neeb had with her previous employer, the Louisiana agency in charge of that state's casinos.

Something odd about a person who keeps leaving well-paying jobs every few years. (Neeb started her Pennsylvania job in 2005.)
