It appears I'm not the only political commentator in Pennsylvania who sees through Ed Rendell.
I came across two excellent columns about Gov. Ed Rendell over the weekend.
Both were published by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, one of the few newspapers in Pennsylvania who isn't a charter member of the Edward G. Rendell Fan Club.
When the governor does something wrong, and it happens more often than you think, count on the Tribune-Review to take Rendell to the woodshed.
Eric Heyl's column is titled "If only Ed and Arlen understood the law." The jab at Specter is a bonus.
Brad Bumstead's column is "Rendell's atrocious call."
Both deal with Rendell's reluctance to campaign return money he received from fugitive California financier Norman Hsu. Even Hillary Clinton, the most ethically-challenged person to ever seek the presidency, knew enough to return Hsu's tainted money as soon as the scandal broke. But not Ed Rendell.
The newspaper recounts Rendell's missteps in the Hsu affair in a Sunday editorial titled "Rendell's scandal."
And the topping on the cake is the Randy Bish cartoon featured above. For more terrific editorial cartoons by Bish, go to the cartoons section of the Tribune-Review Web site.
