Gas cost $2.33 a gallon before Democrats took over Congress

I can remember back to November 2006 when gas was $2.33 a gallon, but then the Democrats were elected to majorities in both the House and Senate and gas prices have been rising ever since. Coincidence?

What are the odds of $5.00 a gallon gas by the end of the year. It probably depends on how many more Democrats are elected to Congress this November and whether Barack Obama is elected president.

I suppose the same coincidence could be linked to the "conservative" Republican President, George W. Bush, since gas was $1.00 or less before he took office.
