'Does a frog like boiling water?'

"Does a frog like boiling water? Probably not. But if you raise the heat up slowly, ostensibly, he won't notice he's being cooked."

That's how Jane Perkins starts her thought-provoking Letter to the Editor about how far-left radical elements are taking over our government.

The letter, originally published in The Pottstown Mercury. is an interesting commenary on the current state of America, where millions of people voted for a candidate they know little about, where members of Congress approve a $1 trillion stimulus plan without reading a single page of the bill, where propaganda routinely passes for "news."

"But what happens if we are so busy living our lives that we don't notice the heat slowly being turned up beneath us?" Perkins asks. We are the frogs, folks!

The Senate rubber-stamps every appointment Barack Obama sends down the pike, regardless if that person is a tax cheat or has radical views. Perkins specifically cites former ACLU attorney Dawn Johnson, whom Barack Obama has nominated for a high-level post in the Department of Justice.

Are these the people we want to represent us?

Perkins writes:
No matter our liberal or conservative tendencies, we are all Americans. We have a right and a responsibility to know who is representing us, not only through the election process, but also through the appointee process.
