'In search of ... Rep. Rick Taylor'

Veteran Montgomery County political reporter Margaret Gibbons takes a few shots at state Rep. Rick Taylor, a freshman who is looking more and more like a one-term lawmaker.

Taylor, a Democrat who asks how high when Harrisburg party leaders tell him to jump, has little to show for his two years in Harrisburg. Since the April primary, Taylor and his surrogates have spent most of his time attacking Republican challenger Todd Stephens.

From Gibbons' latest column:
Come out, come out wherever you are - this means YOU, state Rep. Rick Taylor. Taylor, the Democratic freshman state lawmaker running for a second two-year term in Harrisburg, continues to hide behind others when it comes to the negative component of his re-election campaign. Most recently, he let campaign manager Danny Friedman take on Republican challenger Todd Stephens in a negative attack on the Stephens campaign's fundraising tactics. Give me a break! Friedman is not the fellow running for re-election. If something needs to be said, let the candidate do the talking. In contrast, Stephens, after being chided about this same arm's-length approach to negative attacks by his own campaign, now seems to be taking more of an up-front role in his campaign. The voters deserve nothing less.
