Gov. Ed Rendell may be more receptive to a special session of the Legislature to address ethics and reform issues.
Republican lawmakers and citizen reform groups are calling for a special session in the wake of the Bonusgate scandal that has rocked Harrisburg.
(Check out the post "Everyone calls for reform - Except Rendell" at POLICY BLOG for more background.)
But Rendell also wants the Legislature to address energy conservation, the expected spike in electric rates and health care this fall.
That doesn't leave much room for ethics and reform, does it?
And what about transportation and Rendell's plan to lease the Turnpike? That's supposed to be a hot topic of debate this fall. Maybe we shouldn't even go there.
