Construction begins on World War II Memorial

A two-year effort to build a monument to the men and women from the Pottstown area who served in World War II has paid off.

Ground was broken and construction has begun in Pottstown Memorial Park thanks to the volunteer efforts of a small but dedicated group of area residents.

A dedication date of Sept. 7 has been tentatively set; however, donations are still needed to fund the memorial.

Read more about the project in today's edition of The Mercury.
