Bozo the Clown dead at 83
Larry Harmon, known to millions as Bozo the Clown, died Thursday at age 83.
Bozo the Clown entertained children for more than 50 years on television and live appearances. The term "Bozo the Clown" became a mainstay in American pop culture.
"Bozo is a combination of the wonderful wisdom of the adult and the childlike ways in all of us," Harmon told The Associated Press in a 1996 interview.
Here's a secret most people don't know: Harmon trained more than 200 other Bozos who made live appearances across the country. The Bozo brand, which Harmon licensed, made him millions.
And along the way, Bozo made millions of children laugh.
Larry Harmon may be gone, but Bozo the Clown lives on.
