Taxpayer coalition adds new member

While there is no movement on the property tax relief front in Harrisburg, the grassroots effort to eliminate the much-despised tax continues to grow.

The Pennsylvania Coalition of Taxpayer Associations has announced it has added a new member -- its 31st -- to the alliance.

The Wyoming County Concerned Taxpayers is the newest recruit, according to David Baldinger, administrator of the anti-tax coalition and its companion group, the Pennsylvania Taxpayers Cyber Coalition, www.ptcc.us

"We're excited to have them as part of our coalition," Baldinger said. "If you're a resident of Wyoming County, please consider joining this very active and focused group."

Contact information for the Wyoming County group and the other 30 member-groups is available at the coalition's Web site.

Baldinger also urges anyone considering starting a taxpayer group and needs help organizing to contact any of member groups for assistance.

Here's my unsolicited advice to Baldinger and the taxpayers groups. They should tap into the growing "Tea Party" movement across Pennsylvania and form an alliance to oppose growth in government and push for reduction or elimination of taxes, which is the fuel that feeds the government monster.
