Breaking news from the Harrisburg Patriot-News:Sandi Vito, Pennsylvania's Acting Secretary of the Labor, pleaded guilty earlier today to a charge of public drunkenness.
Vito, 43, paid $329 in fines/court costs and faces no other disciplinary action.
Vito, who was arrested after after drinking at a Harrisburg hotel bar last month, completed an alcohol rehab program and returned to her $136,000-a-year position.
Her nomination to serve as Secretary of Labor is pending before the Pennsylvania Senate. Rendell has stood by Vito during her recent legal troubles and her nomination is not expected to have any trouble getting through the Republican-controlled Senate.
