From NetChoice, a coalition opposed to new tax on Internet-based business:
"NetChoice has worked long and hard to oppose Internet sales tax efforts to force catalog and online retailers to collect tax in states where they have no physical presence," says NetChoice Executive Director Steve DelBianco. Rather, they would introduce complexities and burdens that would raise costs for many small businesses, who are the lifeblood of our economy and a substantial contributor to the very tax base upon which states rely. And these new costs would inevitably drive up prices paid by consumers, who are desperately seeking bargains in this struggling economy."
