Rep. Gerlach: Israel must defend itself against Hamas

U.S. Congressman Jim Gerlach, PA-6, is firmly behind Israel's incursion into Gaza to stop Hamas rockets from targetting Israeli civilians.

Writing in an op-ed published today by The Pottstown Mercury, Gerlach says, "Israel is simply protecting itself from a very dangerous neighbor."

Gerlach writes:

All countries have the right to defend themselves and the safety of their citizens.

I'm pretty sure that if a radical group took over Canada and started lobbing missiles into Buffalo, the U.S. government's response would be swift and decisive.

The world should not expect Israel to react any differently while it is under attack.
