I don't know, Tony. I hope you're right. But Obama's got the power (if somewhat diminished in status) of the mainstream media trumpeting every movement he makes. Not to mention he's got an unprecedentedly large online network of contacts and supporters. He's got all the money in the world (and plenty of elitist, wealthy liberals to bankroll him). And he's essentially still running a campaign. Just check out whitehouse.gov to see what I mean. I wish him the best as our Commander in Chief. But conservatives have to start rebuilding and reinvigorating the party now--or it will all be too little, too late in '10 and '12.
A bill to repeal the 22nd amendment is all ready to be introduced in congress. Don't ever underestimate the left when it comes to consolidating power. We got lucky in 1994 because Clinton didn't have the grassroots organization Obama has now. Chances of Republicans gaining control again in my lifetime are slim at best.
