Good thing Rendell isn't up for re-election

The labor unions that put Ed Rendell into the governor's mansion in 2002 and 2006 have turned on "Fast Eddie" because he plans to cut up to 2,000 state jobs to address the state's budget crisis.

I was a member of AFSCME, the union that represents most State workers. In 2002 Rendell put a wage freeze in effect. AFSCME recommemded that we accept the contract in essence they backed Rendell. In 2006 they did not favor any candidate but did not mention anything about Rendell's 2002 contract. The executives of the Union walk lock step with any Democrat just for the fact that he belongs to the Democratic Party. So this Union letter is nothing but bluster. Rendell tells them to jump and they ask how high. Time for a Third Party
