More than 30 states finished the 2007-08 fiscal year in the red. Pennsylvania was not one of them, but many experts predict that the state could be facing a $1 billion deficit at the end of the 2008-09 fiscal year.
Meanwhile, the state has released its December tax collection numbers, showing $1.7 billion in revenues. No information available yet on expenditures.
