Democrats use latest technology to scam taxpayers

A must-read editorial at The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Web site about how Pennsylvania House Democrats used e-mail to fool Pennsylvania taxpayers.

From the editorial:

Among Attorney General Tom Corbett's Bonusgate indictments -- which accused a dirty-dozen Harrisburg insiders with committing a massive conspiracy to use public funds and staff for campaign work -- are allegations of a Democrat "spam scam" that cost taxpayers $1.7 million over five years.

The e-mail scam, say prosecutors, was sold to the public as a constituent outreach program. In reality, it was an Internet propaganda operation benefiting campaigning Democrat legislators.
