Challenger faults Dinniman for wasting taxpayer dollars

Steve Kantrowitz, the Republican candidate for Pennsylvania's 19th state Senate District, blasts wasteful spending by incumbent Democrat Andy Dinniman in a commercial posted at YouTube.

It's an effective spot, highlighting all the taxpayer-paid promotional material that incumbents use to get their name in front of voters.

Kantrowitz said he will stop the practice if he's elected.

This Chester County race is not getting much attention, but Kantrowitz believes he can unseat Dinniman, a former Chester County commissioner who won a special election two years ago to complete the remaining term of Sen. Robert Thompson, who died in office. This was a traditional GOP seat that fell into Democratic control. Kantrowitz wants it back in the GOP fold.

Don't underestimate Katnrowitz, a retired admiral in the Naval Reserve.

Dinniman, while a likable fellow, has little to show for his two years in Harrisburg. As a member of the Democratic minority in the Senate, he's been relegated to the back bench.

If Republicans can retake this seat, Chester County will have a lot more clout in Harrisburg.
