"I understand the appeal of Facebook, and I am trying to post regular updates as my busy schedule permits," said Reichley. "I also see the appeal of microblogging on Twitter as a way for government to be closer to people, to be more open, accountable, and transparent.
"The legislative process is complicated and time-consuming, so perhaps a glimpse into exactly what a representative does each day will be enlightening and interesting. I hope to provide live updates and commentary from the House floor during budget debates in June and into July, if the past six years is any indication of when the budget will be finalized."
People interested in following Reichley's legislative activities can now do so through links to four popular social media sites, which can be found on his legislative Web site at RepReichley.com
Once at the Web site, please look for a box containing the icons of four popular social media sites: Facebook.com, twitter.com, flickr.com and YouTube.com
Reichley's recent tweets are also displayed on the main page of his Web site. People can click on the icon of their choice to leave Reichley's site and navigate to one of the social media sites listed.
For some time, photos, audio clips, and video clips have been available online. V-clips are available for viewing on YouTube.com/repreichley, as well as on his Web site under a tab called "My Video Updates." Photographs of student tours that visit Harrisburg are beginning to be posted on flickr. Photographs have also been available on RepReichley.com under the "Photo Gallery" tab. Audio clips are posted on his Web site under "My Audio Updates."
