Substitute teacher busted on drug charges

I'm thinking of starting a blog on bad teachers. Here's the latest from the world of education.

A substitute teacher in a Berks County high school allegedly asked a student to help her buy marijuana.

Instead, the student went to school authorities, who went to police.

A sting was set up and the teacher was charged after the teacher arrived at a Reading restaurant to allegedly seal the drug deal, police say.

A county detective told the Reading Eagle that in his 30 years of law enforcement -- 20 of which were in narcotics investigation -- he never before had a case where a student was approached by a teacher for drugs.

The detective said it is unknown why the teacher felt comfortable enough to ask the student to help her get drugs, according to the newspaper.
