Mom tossed child on railroad tracks

I know Mother's Day is already past, but this woman is definitely not in the running for Mother of the Year honors.

A 27-year-old Berks County woman tossed her 4-year-old son on railroad tracks and then she jumped into the Schuylkill River.

After she was fished out of the river, the woman told authorities she was trying to get away from someone or something.

Police said the woman had drugs in her system. You think?

The boy was treated a local hospital and released to relatives. The mom is being kept in the hospital for observation. She has been charged charged with endangering the welfare of a child, recklessly endangering another person, public intoxication and delaying railroad operations, police said.
