Poll: Obama beats McCain by 22 points among 18-29 year-olds

Interesting poll numbers released today by Reader's Digest that finds voters under 30, or Millennials, are changing the landscape of American politics.

The poll says we should prepare for President Barack Obama, who beats John McCain by 22 points among young voters.

Just one little problem with the poll. Young people don't vote. They never have and it's highly unlikely they will make the difference in 2008 either.

Remember all the predictions about how young people were going to put John Kerry into the White House. They never bothered to show up at the polls.

And just look at the Pennsylvania numbers a couple of weeks ago. Despite record registrations, 4 of 10 Democratic voters didn't bother to show up to cast a vote for either Obama or Hillary Clinton.

Polls are an interesting snapshot of the moment, but the only poll that counts will be held on Nov. 4. Let's see how many of the "Millennials" bother to show up.
