As gas approaches $4 a gallon, don't forget to thank your Democratic member of Congress.
As The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review says in an editorial today, the United States hasn't built a new oil refinery since the 1970s."
The reason for that? Democrats in Congress are afraid of radical environmentalists.
"Congress impedes new domestic drilling with an anemic energy policy," the newspaper says. "And federal spending on ethanol finally is being recognized for what it is: money down a rathole."
