A record $3.5 billion was spent on lobbying in 2009 as companies, unions and special interests groups lined up to line the pockets of Congressional Democrats. So much for Obama's promise to end the influence of lobbyists in Washington. I guess when it's your party getting the money, lobbying isn't so bad. File this under liberal hypocrisy.
