Special election Tuesday for 147th House Dist.

Voters in Pennsylvania's 147th House District will pick a state representative Tuesday to finish the unexpired term of Bob Mensch, who is now a state senator.

The candidates are Republican Marcy Toepel, the former first deputy recorder of deeds in Montgomery County, and Democrat Bob Dodge, a political newcomer.

My prediction for Tuesday: Toepel will win easily and should have the advantage in November when she seeks a full two-year term.

The 147th District includes Lower Frederick, Marlborough, Perkiomen, Red Hill, Salford, Skippack, Upper Hanover and Upper Salford townships, as well as East Greenville, Schwenksville and Green Lane boroughs in Montgomery County.

Read a profile of the candidates in The Lansdale Reporter.
