'Peeping Tom Landlord' gets prison time

A Chester County landlord who admitted he videotaped female tenants, was sentenced to 4- to 10-years in state prison on Friday, following emotional testimony from his victims.

The Mercury's Carl Hessler Jr. was in the courtroom:
NORRISTOWN – The women who suffered "emotional rape" when their landlord secretly videotaped their most intimate moments, sobbed Friday as they faced the man prosecutors dubbed the "Peeping Tom Landlord."

"The actions will forever haunt my future," one woman testified with gut-wrenching emotion, recalling the first time police showed her a videotape on which Thomas Daley had recorded her private moments in her Norristown apartment.

"I had feelings of anger, pain, embarrassment and fear," the woman told Montgomery County Judge William J. Furber Jr. "My heart dropped into my stomach. I was nauseated."

Several other women who fell victim to the peeping landlord testified they continue to suffer anxiety, paranoia and other emotional problems stemming from being spied upon and have sought counseling.

"She said it was tantamount to emotional rape," said Furber, reading from a letter one woman wrote to him.
