'It's Time for Congress to Work Like the Rest of Us'

A Connecticut Congressional candidate has released a bold plan to revamp Congressional pay and perks as part of his reform platform.

The proposal by Republican Will Gregory limits Congressional pay raises and strips many of the perks Congress has granted itself over the years.

The Gregory plan also eliminates the Congressional "golden parachute" retirement plan and mandates that members of Congress participate in the same health care and Social Security programs of their constituents.

"If they have to reap what they sow, maybe they'll be less inclined to push more and more unnecessary bureaucracy on American taxpayers," says Gregory. "By making members of Congress deal with the same red tape for health care and social security, they will see firsthand that massive government regulation has created few common-sense solutions for middle-class families."

I'd vote for this guy if I lived in his district.
