Kirk & Spock give way to 'Angels & Demons'

Capt. Kirk and First Officer Spock were no match for 'Angels & Demons' giving up the No. 1 spot in this weekend's box office to the Tom Hanks thriller.

'Angels & Demons' topped the box office this weekend with an estimated $48.0 million, knocking 'Star Trek' out of the top berth after just one week.That's the way it goes as one blockbuster after another opens between now and Labor Day.

Don't feel sorry for the crew of the USS Enterprise. 'Star Trek' has hauled $147.6 million in two weeks and has already become the highest-grossing film in the series.
